A. Actual construction takes one day.
Q. Does the price quoted include permits required by the city?
A. No, however we can obtain the required permits on behalf of the customer; the customer will pay for any and all permits. Pricing for permits vary by city, we suggest you check with your city ahead of time.
Q. How much wind can patio covers or carports withstand?
A. Our carports and patio covers are engineered to withstand winds of 90 MPH.
Q. Differences between steel and aluminum covers?
A. The paint warranty is the same for both steel and aluminum. Steel is stronger and won't dent as easily; there is less hail damage with a steel cover. The steel covers are guaranteed not to rust for 10 years. An aluminum cover is more expensive.
Q. How long will a patio cover or carport last?
A. While the baked enamel finish on our patio covers and carports are warrantied for 10 years, the cover itself should last at least 20 years or longer (depending upon extreme weather conditions).
Q. Can a patio cover be insulated AFTER it is installed?
A. Only flat panel covers can be insulated after the initial installation.
Q. Can support posts be mounted on top of a concrete slab?
A. Yes, except for free standing covers.
Q. Do carports and patio covers help save on energy bills?
A. Any structure that will shade a window, door, concrete slab or even the wall of a home, helps to make it cooler in the home and will save on energy bills.
Q What is LOW-E glass?
A Required by Texas law, LOW-E glass controls glare, blocks the sun's hottest wavelengths and increases energy efficiency. This page (LOW-E Glass - Energy Star) will provide additional information about LOW-E glass.
Q Are all sun rooms insulated?
A No, Sunrooms flat panel roofs are available uninsulated or v-panel roof that is not insulated. And windows and kickpanels are available not insulated.
Q How long does it take to build the average sun room?
A The average sunroom requires approximately 3 days for installation.
Q. Are customers required to pay any money upfront?
A. No, with few exceptions*, customers pay for their projects upon completion.
Q. How should you clean vinyl siding?
A. Mild soap and water only - no power washing! In most cases, normal rainfall is sufficient to keep it clean. But, should your siding need cleaning, we recommend an occasional washing with clear water using a garden hose and soft-bristled brush (a long-handled, car-washing brush is ideal for this purpose). If a cleaning solution is needed, use a 1/3 cup of your normal laundry detergent in one gallon of water.
